About Me

As he neared the date of his graduation from Ottawa’s Carleton University, Timothy Valihora began accepting short database programming contracts with organizations in and around the Canadian capital, such as Stentor Communications, the Department of Justice of the Canadian Federal Government, Canada Post, and the Corel Computer Corporation. Continuing with these assignments until well after his graduation in June, 1994 gave Mr. Valihora the opportunity to hone his skills in real-world applications, as well as accumulate valuable work experience. In August, 1995, Timothy Valihora joined the Animal Research staff of Agriculture Canada as a Computer Systems Analyst.

Timothy Valihora departed Agriculture Canada near the end of 1996 to become a Software Developer for the Scientific Re-Design Department of Statistics Canada. He joined the Oracle G/L development team at Nortel Networks as a Software Developer and Analyst in February 1997, and moved to Nortel’s Treasury and Planning Systems in the same capacity in December 1998. Mr. Valihora undertook his first DataStage development project in May 2000, when he joined the Data Warehousing department of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Ontario’s Workers’ compensation agency.

In June of 2002, Timothy Valihora accepted his first major consulting contract with CGI/Bell Canada’s Enterprise Data Warehouse, an Ascential DataState job involving NextBill, IP Broadband, and Bell Mobility Interfaces. Subsequent projects lasted for varying periods of time, some lasting less than a month, some a few months to a year, and one, with Hilton Grand Vacations, lasted just over two years. In addition to carrying out his contracts to his clients’ satisfaction, and often exceeding expectations, Timothy Valihora also diligently worked with the staffs of his clients, mentoring and training them on new systems.

An IBM Information Server Expert, Timothy Valihora has received certified professional training in several products created by IBM, Oracle, and Ascential Software Corp. His consulting firm, TVMG Consulting Inc., is located in the Ottawa area, and he accepts contracts throughout the United States as well. An active man away from the keyboard, he enjoys tennis and squash, as well as golf.
